Hi,
the HD light looks pretty much the same as the one on my M1100
http://www.ducatimonsterforum.org/index.php?topic=205.msg1096425#msg1096425
Although I suspect it may be a higher power than the one I am running... would be interested to find out the specifications for the light... I have posted on mine in the past where I think the low beam is pretty good, maybe even better than pretty good but the high beam is lacking a little... had mine for a couple of years without any problems at all... bought it as a kit from JW speaker, they were great to deal with.
Damn Graydo your bike is hot...
For those not wanting to invest that much, I can def endorse the output of my version. And I have the opposite scenario as Graydo, my high beam is insanely bright. For those of us with baby and beater/low value Monsters it's a good way to go.

I have read some of the reviews on the new LED headlight harley is offering on their 2014 bikes & it seams to have great light output. Harley offers it as a stand alone part for retrofit into older modles at a fairley reasonable price.
http://www.harley-davidson.com/store/led-headlamp-pa-11-7339010--1
If you can live with your light saying Harley Davidson on the lense this may be a great lighting upgrade to those wanting to keep a 7" round headlight on the monster but with much increased light output.
If you try, I believe, Lakeshore Harley (IL) - you can generally get 20% off and shipped free. I wound up getting this light for $320 shipped for my '97 Harley Dyna Wide Glide and am more than happy with the light output. It is bright and is way better than the OEM halogen headlight.

I went with the JW Speaker 8700 evo in black. It showed up the other day, I am just waiting on the adapter ring to install in the stock Monster bucket then I will post up some pictures. I was happy to see that they redisigned the part from some of the pics I have seen online, it now as a large heat sink on the back of the light.

sorry to burst your cherry but I was in there a month ago and it's no longer available. The parents in Milwaukee shut that 20% down....bastards. I called them to make sure because I wanted to change my Electra Glide's lanterns and it's going to be almost a grand, pass.

I got the headlight installed on the bike tonight, no ride report yet but from what I can see it has a very good beam pattern with plenty of light output.
Here is the light on the bike, I think I need to paint the ring black now
Low beam
High beam

Interesting. Thought there were some that still were able to get around this.
Here is an LED headlight, Phase 7, by Truck-Lite on ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/TRUCK-LITE-27270C-7-LED-HEADLIGHT-HEADLAMP-PHASE-7-HARLEY-PAR56-/161022514485
Many peeps have used the Truck Lite Phase 7 and have been pleased. Less expensive than $1,000.

I wonder if those would fit into a Monster bucket

It looks very similar to the LED kit Motowheels offers
http://motowheels.com/i-9501009-mw-custom-led-headlight-7-inch.html
so I would think with a 7" adapter it would fit.

Similar hell...its the exact same thing. I'm really kickin' myself, after buying the eBay knock off and new brackets I could have had this set up for around the same price.

Try Kutter or Newcastle HD also.

caperix I just want to confirm. Did you get your adapter ring from JW Speaker or Motowheels? Did you fit that light in the stock bucket?

I used the motowheels adapter, I could not find an adapter through JW speaker, but their website is a little hard to navigate. It did all fit in the stock monster bucket, though the motowheels adapter says it will not fit the newer bikes with the plastic bucket. The headlight does seam to bounce around more than stock but that may be that I can just see the beam better, once the clips are bent per the motowheels instructions the headlight is held tightly in the bucket.

They gave you instructions with yours?! I just got a nice metal ring with a copy of the invoice.
Of course, I've made no attempt to use it yet, so I haven't bothered calling them to find instructions (but maybe I should before they stop selling adapters). Not sure duct tape would be the best mounting technique.
