Planes now are very cool, don't get me wrong.

Planes like this are sexy. Corsairs, P51's etc, so awesome.

Not positive although I've seen that on cannons before. That pic is of a Corsair with quad 20mm cannons vs the six 50cal machine guns.

I was on a carrier once, and they painted up a couple old cars like demolition derby cars. They welded a bar under the front of the frame so it could connect to the catapult. Then they proceeded to launch them off the deck to show the power the catapult had by itself.
