DP ECU Question

Hi Guys and Gals,
                         I have a 2007 800S2R and need to tidy up the insulating tape around the connections that plug into the ECU. My question is, with the ignition off will it affect anything if I unplug from the ECU, e.g. the TPS setting?

just remember to disconnect at least the battery's negative terminal before unplugging the ECU terminals
