When I mounted the Rizoma Rear sets I realized that they would not fit without modifying the length of the adapter.  I also had to modify the exhaust bracket on the pipes.  The folks at Moto Wheels got me hooked up with an excellent place that modified my exhaust bracket in one day.  The name of that shop is to remain top secret as they usually don't have time to fiddle with the little stuff.  BIG THANKS FOR THAT ONE!

I ran the mid-pipe it out to a muffler shop and totally got what I paid for, a $20.00 fix that did not fit.  When picking up the exhaust bracket I asked if they knew of a real shop that could fix my exhaust adapter.  They sent me over to a local company they work with.  These folks are master exhaust builders.  Show cars, race cars they do it all.  The quality of welding is incredible.  They swedged my muffler shop "fix" so that it fit perfectly.  However after looking at the mess of a mid-pipe (several ugly welds and a yucky flapper valve) the owner suggested I ride by and they will build me a new mid-pipe to fit perfectly!

Being as my bike will be on-site to build a custom piece I am going to suggest that they work with Motowheels to build a production midpipe for the Evo's.  No one else makes one and I think there is a need.  Anyone interested in a clean as beans mid-pipe for their Evo's?  If some interested can be generated it might make it to production.  I will have the work done this week and will return to this thread to post the final pics.

I won't have pics until it is done next week.  I was going to ride all weekend but life got in the way.  So today I am going to install the rest of the parts (Rizoma bars and heated grips) wash the beast and ride the next couple of days.  The weather here is amazing right now and is supposed to stay that way all week.  Wed I will ride in and have the mid-pipe made and post a slew of pics as my ride is nearly finished ( :

Why keep the shop a secret? Let them decide if they want to fiddle with a job or not. Can't wait to see pics.

I have no need, butt it is a great idea! I think Ducati gets around 6 bills for a 696 midpipe.

Changing the plan.  I am gonna have a custom pipe made and mount my Zards under the tail.  The Zards are pretty small diameter cans and I can get them in pretty tight.  May have to order new end caps from Zard that are down turned.....

I will have some Ti mid pipes for sale soon, and a full Ti system also. The tube is being made and I should have it in a month or so.

Awesome!  My problem is that the stock length mid-pipe did not work with my cans and rear sets.  Needed another 1.3 inches to clear the return spring on the brake.  Sigh, always 1.3 inches, story of my life  Grin
