Sportbike Track gear seems to want these gone

Offering up what remains of their Scorpion EXO-1000 for 84% off - so prices start at $55. This helmet hasn't gotten the best reviews - but for $55 for a Snell helmet as a spare or loaner. That I could see

Wow. I wish those fit my melon. Cool shield color options to go with. Would be interesting to field test those.

Great heads up!  I sent my buddy the link and he bought one right off.  Now we just have to find him a new winter jacket cheap.

If anyone has that head size, I can attest that it's a nice helmet. Just bought one back in August, been enjoying mine. Thanks for the link, I'm going to order a shield or two!

I wore that helmet for a while. I would not recommend paying above $150 for it, but it's a steal for $55.

Got mine yesterday. A bit snug but comfy while it's on. Popped my ears taking it off though.  laughingdp

One thing I noticed is that the build date is 2008. Should I be worried since I heard that helmets should be thrown out after 5 years? What's the shelf life of these things?

The 5 year rule is use AFAIK.

5 years of your sweaty head pressing against the interior over and over versus sitting on a shelf?

http://www.smf.org/helmetfaq#aWhyReplace

Snell says the issue is sweat, body oils, etc breaking down the glues, resins etc in the helmet

ive got the EXO1000 its defintely a steal for under $100. at $55 thats just theivery. I wouldnt pay the asking price though, theres much better higher quality helmets on sale at the premeium price of an EXO1000. With that said, i dont think ive ever kept a helmet for 5 years. something ALWAYS happens to it....
