"I WAS GOING HOW FAST, OFFICER?"

Not any more but they did for a short period.

Some of the people that seem to like them ... the kind of person that wants to talk to you about your bike (or tell you about it) but not the kind of person you actually want to talk to.

do you mean that hideous indiana thing? wasn't that mainly for the US market? and a huge flop? (thank god!)

the attention? yeah, i understand exactly what you mean by that, and you're spot on, strangely, when i fill up at the regular stops and see the same guys who are usually out on the same roads on their ducati's they completely ignore me on the diavel, i get stuck with ulysses riders on viragos and vt750's wanting a chat, people i have nothing in common with at all. or worse still harley riders telling me to chrome something or get leather lever covers with tassles and that i should "flame it"! good lord................

when i'm on my 888 or R the same guys who ignored me on the diavel accept me with open arms into the "circle of trust", very snobby behaviour, but i can't talk, i cringe when i see some crusty old fart in a belstaff or ulysses vest come walking over...

Ahh no. God no.

You may be equally disgusted, wish to ridicule or point out it's lack of success ... but this is what I was thinking, I present the Ducati Cruiser:

Almost entirely for novelty value ... but hey, considering the family I have married in to ... it is likely to gain some acceptance ... and qualifies for space in Jukie's shed.

From another thread:

just for mark he is one the boss wont mind click on the link  http://www.insella.it/news/ducati-arriva-il-maxi-scooter-nel-2014

The Stroodle-Scoot  laughingdp

Makes sense in many ways (could be the right bike for you Bazz  Evil) ... but photo-chopping a Multi to show design intent will never be a good option. More likely to appear with a German badge ... from an aesthetic or ego-driven point of view.

The mock-up with the full trellis a few years ago was a much better 'Ducati'.

EDIT: I can't remember how much trellis there was ... but probably more than the new M1200  cheeky

Depending on circumstances something like the Aprilia SRV 850 could be the go as a practical proposition (still an Italian, still a 90deg V-twin apparently).

Footnote to this ... I picked up a copy of January's Cycle Torque (I tend to only grab one once per annum on average) ... and lo and behold ... it contains a review of the Aprilia SRV 850.

Not only that ... but the review was written by our very own Aunty Mal!

Sounds like a bike that would meet or exceed most people's requirements for a bike   Evil

My new ride  Grin

So another S4Rs joins the fold.

I might have a hope one day of finding a new home for mine.
Maybe I should actually advertise it again......

Didn't know you were in the market Paul.

Enjoy the madness.

Actually, Matty,............................  Paul queried me re yours but I told him it had been withdrawn from bikesales  because you couldn't come to grips with selling it.  Evil

On a more serious note, the lad really isn't into bling and has always yearned for "that certain ugly part" of a Monster to rest his beer on.
