Gyro stabilized GoPro on the Monster

For Christmas I treated myself to a Terot T-2D Gimbal for the Hero 3 that is normally used on quad copters.  The gimbal provides 2 axis stabilization under very rigorous conditions providing ultra smooth video.  I decided to see how it would do on the Monster.  I am pretty happy with the results although I fought some issues with the Gimbal shutting down due to excessive lean angles and too much speed would give it fits trying to stabilize.  I had to take it easy to prevent this but still got some very smooth video...some of the smoothest I have seen on a motorcycle mounted camera.  I even mounted it to my helmet mid video.  Don't forget to watch in 1080

On a related note, I'm glad I stiffened the springs on my 620.
You wouldn't have a lot of travel available to navigate our crater strewn goat trails.

Yes, I have to say I am very lucky to live in Southern Oregon.  Awesome roads and you can ride almost all year.  Oh, a dead Indian road is a blast in the summer, but garbage in the winter months due to the crushed rock they lay down at the higher elevations.

Please post up pic of camera mounted on bike.  This is a great post. A buddy and I have been trying to find any product for bike to do what you did.  Is the equipment stable? Any issues?  Any extra detail you can provide is greatly appreciated.  I got to research the cost of this gyro next.

ab, I learned a ton from this (watch the end of the video to show what they used):



Although, I didn't care for the way they secured the gimbal to the suction cup mount.  I came up with a better solution using a flat adhesive mount and some longer hardware.  This allows for easier switching from left to right.  I have had others ask how I set it up so I will post up a video and pictures tomorrow showing the details.

Nice job dark_duc!  Very impressive.  I live in Eugene and come down to the Grants Pass area quite regularly.

I also fly multirotors   Never thought about combining the two technologies...
