Opinions requested: Lightening all/most of the primary gears - 900SS

Hey guys, a few questions about having all the gears you see in the following pics lightened up a bit...
1: Dangerous for any reason on an otherwise stock motor with stock tolerances? Any negative effects on reliability?
2: Effects on riding characteristics? (good, bad, or otherwise)
3: Your overall opinion of the cost effectiveness/worthiness of such a mod?
Thank you.
Not pictured: Oil pump which would also be lightened and flywheel which is already lightened.

Also interested in this.
Do you have someone close/cheap that can do the machining/balancing for you?

No...I would likely send them off to someone well known and trusted in the Duc community, i.e Fast Frank, Mark Sutton, etc.
Man I can't wait till tax season and the spring thaw, my build thread's gonna be fun.

Cool, you're right it will be fun!
From what I gather, it seems like lightening the gears isn't too cost effective, because most of them don't even spin at the full speed of the motor... BUT, if your goal is to squeeze every bit out of your powerplant, then hell yes, shave off every bit you can!

You might pm Monsterlover...one of our own sponsors.
He's lightened gears for more than one I believe.

I can't wait until Marquez gets on his level and makes Jorge trip on his tampon string.
