Hi All,

I raised the rear height on my 01 M600 using instructions off ducatisuite. I let out the ball joints as far as I could according to his recommendation. I don't feel like it raised the rear enough. Did they sell replacement ball joints for the hoop that were longer than the stock ones to bring the rear higher??

That sounds right, you leave the minimum thread depth equal to the width of the bolt as a rule of thumb.

I remember there were some hoop spacers available, but not sure who sold them. Motowheels has a closeout on an extended billet hoop iirc. Check with the sponsors for those extensions.

the thing with them is that when you increase the distance between frame and swingarm you move the hoop mounting point down, but you also move the lower shock mount down by a bit less than half that distance.  so it's not a straight increase in the hoop extension amount.

also it'll get pretty flighty on the front is you jack the back up.  we used to push the forks all the way down just to settle them down a bit.  check the sag at each end too, you might have unevenness there giving a change in attitude just from you sitting on it.

If i install the jack up bolts from Louigi, is it safer to thread the existing bolts all the way in to them (since they're currently only 10mm in the hoop itself)

Whoa thats a long extension. The ones from Louisiana moto are 25mm. Did you raise the forks to compensate?

Did you raise the forks to compensate?

I switched to a taller profile tire at the same time to compensate (from 60 to 70). TBH I preferred the way the bike handled better before, felt more stable. The only reason I used those risers is because my license plate would hit my rear tire before. I may get a set of those 25mm risers Brad posted when I put my bike back together.
