You're saying it *has* to be oxy free for an A/V application, right?
Seems to me that Motolectric uses the phrase "oxygen free" as a marketing shtick...oxygen free is "better" wire in the sense that less oxygen = more copper and more copper = less resistance, but if 4 AWG welding cable does the job of being your starter circuit just as well, I don't really see an advantage to going with their oxygen free amp wire at over 10x the price and without the added benefit of the ultra tough abrasion and heat resistance of the welding cables insulation.
There's a huuuuge thread on Ducati.ms about the Motolectric cables that almost lured me into buying one of their kits until I realized I was being seduced by the hyperbole of it all. What he kept going back to was the video proving the kit was vastly superior to the OE wiring, which was true...but when challenged as to why his was better than any other aftermarket or home made solution that used superior quality material than the OE stuff, he had to rename marine grade heat shrink; "dual wall mil spec shielding with hot melt sealant" to get his point across. It was all BS. Clever BS, but BS none the less.
Since I am lazy and I like the quality and every little thing you need in the package convenience I would consider buying Motoelectric cables. Yep, a lot of BS going on there, particularly oxygen free copper. Regular copper? about 2% oxygen. Oxygen free? about .5% oxygen. Better conductor? Yes. Will that reduction of .00000whatever voltage drop help you start the bike? Doubtful. More corrosion resistant? Yes. How many centuries are we worried about

I got some more crap powder coated. The finned valve covers to match the barrels and engine covers, fuel cap flange, a coil bracket I chopped and lightened, rear caliper hanger, and Oberon turn signals. Oh and my alloy swingarm which came out great! But I'm most excited about the turn signals...I love these little guys but the black anodizing scratches if ya look at it cross eyed. All this stuff looks dripping wet and I bet I could shave with my swingarm....

Very nice. A fine effort on the coil bracket too
.
A most anticipated build.

No, what was said specifically was to NOT use aluminum clad copper. Use SO cord, use welding lead, use industial structure grounding cable, but for god's sakes don't use aluminum clad cable.
I love that motor. It could be art in some gearhead gallery somewhere. Can't wait to see it done.

A few people have asked about my IMA triple clamps...well I just wanted to post a heads up that they are for sale in the classifieds along with brand new Speedymoto and Cycle Cat clip ons...I've decided to go with an IMA setup that doesn't utilize the risers. They are in perfect condition...
