That's ridiculous anyway, Monsta has more talent in his big toe than I have altogether. And Kopfjäger's bike is just plain absurd.

My headlight U bracket ain't going to work with these IMA clipons. that's disappointing because I actually really like the U and think it's much cleaner than fork brackets. Has anyone ever encountered this with classic, forward mounted clipons? It's really not even close to working but I've searched, and not seen this issue pop up.

I guess I'll go with the CNC Racing ones, they will allow me to retain my carbon fiber brackets and are probably the tiniest of anything out there. Unless someone has another idea?

I have the CNC racing brackets, they are fiddly to get set right but work fine once done. Definitely try to get a color match on the forks, as they stick out otherwise.

Do they protrude out about the same as OE? One thing I don't like about a lot of brackets is the headlight sticks out too far, looks silly. But the CNCR piece utilizes the OE ears so I'm assuming it's about the same.

I think I'll need 50mm uppers and 54 lowers. Another pointless gripe I have is in re: to lowering...don't see the point. The "correct" height is when the top of the bucket matches the top of the tank...and the OE arrangement pretty much nails that.

'Tis a guy in the classifieds selling a new set of them for full price...which I guess is fair but I offered him a ransom of REALLY nice stuff in trade and ever since he's been blowing me off. But for full price I'd rather just get em from a dealer.

If anything it is more tucked in, but I'm fairly sure it's about the same distance as there was barely any clearance for my HID retrofit behind the bucket.

Measure carefully as depending on where the brackets fall you may have a different diameter on the forks. I lowered mine but they should work fine in the stock height.

Haha, yeah so I guess it's available. Freshly powder coated black with coated black brackets.

I'd actually gotten this from a Monster that had only 1,046 miles along with wiring harnesses and other stuff so especially now with the PC it's like a new bracket.

Wish I could use it...the clamps on these IMA clipons are bizarre. And the pinch bolts are back behind the steering stem in the most p.i.t.a spot imaginable. But I fekn love the posture and the look so they're not going anywhere. Oh and they were $350....so maybe just a bit too much invested, lol.

Mate, despite your humble assessment, your bike will be worthy .
It's a good example of Partial Rudemouthsky and not Full Rudemouthsky, which is more achievable for most of us.

They were non adjustable Marzocchi's, but I had them gutted, anodized black, and rebuilt with Matris F12 cartridges by Speeddog @ Valley Desmo Service. Got the cartridges from a former DMF sponsor.

I plan to list every part and every vendor at the finale of this build. Motowheels and Ca-Cycleworks were key players.

I was looking at the Matris cartridge for a semi affordable fork upgrade what made you go for them?

As with everything else, I spent an absurd amount of time scouring forums, translating Italian, reading as many anecdotal tales as I could...one of the forum members, "Monstermash" uses and swears by them, as does Jason @ Dept of Suspension, he has recommended them over Ohlins in the past. The internals are exceptionally well made; the body, cartridge cylinder, pumping rod and pistons are all machined from 7075 billet and hard anodized. It's just a gorgeous product and I can't wait to see how this bike rides between the Bitubo shock in the rear and the Matris setup upfront.

Almost all of my parts were purchased from DMF sponsors. Bellissimoto was a sponsor at the time when I purchased the Carrozzeria wheels, Matris cartridges, Bitubo shock, STM reservoirs and Brembo RCS masters. California Cycleworks provided the Keihin FCR41 kit, Exactfit coils, belts, lightweight sprockets, and JE 94mm pistons. Motowheels provided the carbon headlight bucket, CNC fabrication battery box, rear caliper & master cylinder, billet steering stem nut, and Nichols flywheel. Monsterparts provided the Ducabike slave cylinder, gas cap, and frame plugs.

In most cases their prices were either the best, or were close enough that the personal service more than made up for the difference. There are some parts however that a significant amount of cash can be saved buying elsewhere, and in those cases I'll always be candid with my fellow hard working mod junkies.

As I said, I was looking at the matris cartridge but just couldn't find the confidence in them, I think you've just changed that.

Ohlins was always a front runner but is it really needed for a road bike and something different adds personality.

And btw, feel free to get your own IMA clipons...i was being tongue in cheek when I jokingly told you not to. But keep in mind they will interfere with your U bracket.

I don't think any of our current sponsors deal with Matris anymore. If you'd like a recommendation I'd say you should talk to PJ or Paige @ PJ's parts. But I don't think you're in the USA...so it's a moot point.
