Sidecar for Veteran's companion dog
«

Hi,
I am a proud Australian soldier, but unfortunately after deployments have been diagnosed with PTSD. My PTSD causes extreme anxiety when I enter a public environment nightmares/ terrors which medication hasn't helped. Therefore I have been issued with a companion dog. But this creates a difficulty as I either have to buy a car or a side car for my bike to be able to transport my dog with me wherever I go. I have a 2008 monster S2R 1000, I've been looking for one for my bike but it looks like I have to get one custom made. Because I'm a soldier I'm not flush for cash and can't fork out $3000+ does anyone know of a work around that might be financially easier for me?
Thank you in advance,
Ash.

This may be beyond your capabilities but it was done about 6 yrs ago on a ducati. Pretty impressive! Search forum and YouTube for Pugglepod.

Scrap the original pricing, it's about 7k for the side car. I think i'll have to sell my bike to buy he sidecar for it! But all jokes aside I think I'll just have to sell the bike

Don't throw in the towel so fast.
This is the aforementioned PugglePod 9000:
I would think someone down under could whip up something like that for not so much money.
Doesn't need to have the fancy body on it, something more basic will do the job.

Looks safe in the video, and well built in the photo.
IIRC the designer/build posted some more details
Hope you can find a way to keep you bike and transport your companion

the puggle pod looks fantastic but I can't find anyone who wants to make one. I can't believe I'm going to have to give up my ride I have wanted to own a Ducati since I was a child and now I have one I don't ever want to let it go...

Hang on for a bit, let me talk to some people.
This is not making a MotoGP bike.
Are you sure your dog will be OK with riding in a sidecar?

ventura rack was an idea I had but it's illegal. Speeddog They are a fully trained service dog so they're trained to do anything I want. They have to pass the same test as a guide dog, but on top of that mine will also be trained to do room clearances, wake me up from nightmares, detect my anxiety levels and more.
