I swapped the battery but the thing still just turns but won't actually start. I'm trying to run through what it could be but if any one has run it to a similar problem I'd really appreciate the help. Thanks

Fuel pump prime?  What are the gauges doing?  Is it trying to start or just cranking?

Whiskey

Gauges are acting normal, come to think I do not here the fuel pump, the bike is not mine but I know on my triumph ou can here the fuel pump prime. That sounds like its Probablie it. Any tips on trouble shooting a fuel pump?

Speeddog

Confirm that the fuel pump wiring connector is securely connected.
Cycle it once just for fun.

Check the fuses.

There are two small relays to the left of the battery.
One of them controls the power to the fuel pump (and other stuff too).
You can swap them, see if the fuel pump does the priming cycle when you key on.
If that does it, you'll need to replace the bad one.

Relays fuses and wiring all good, still no prime...

My small contribution: Whiskey I just went through a similar but different problem here:

If you click on any one of the first three videos you can hear the fuel pump prime immediately as the key is turned. It's loud.

What ended up being my issue was the main wiring harness plug that connects to the back of the guage cluster over the headlight was lose. Thanks to Speeddog for pointing me towards checking that and the two connectors at the ECU. They're quick and easy to check.

Remove the connector under the tank.  You should be getting power at the brown/white wire when you turn the key on.  If so, the problem is either in the wiring that runs through the low fuel sender or the pump itself.  Get back to us with the results.
