Nichols flywheel spacer

So I got my hands on a used Nichols lightweight flywheel a while back. Of course, it didn't come with the spacer. Turns out, I need the spacer on my bike (according to the instructions). I've contacted Nichols several times about it with no luck.

What are my options here? Is this an absolute must-have item... am I going to destroy my motor without it? Any idea where I can get my hands on one or something that I can use in it's place? Anybody have one they didn't use that they would be willing to sell me? I'm kinda up the proverbial creek right now, any help would be greatly appreciated.




Edit: I am leaving on a 1200 mile trip in less than two weeks. The bike is in little pieces in the backyard. I'm getting a little antsy.

Found what I was looking for. Finally got ahold of Nichols yesterday after lunch. The spacer was sitting on my doorstep when I got home from work today. Pretty damn impressive, especially considering I live on the opposite coast.

Shit. Sorry, just got it closed up before I saw your request.

Tell you one thing, that was a mf'er of a project to do in my driveway. Had to replace the ignition pickup coils because the horizontal cylinder went out. Decided to go ahead and put the flywheel in while I was at it. It ended up being a 3-1/2 week ordeal. All because I didn't want it to sit in the shop for a month.
