Hey there, noticed a leak on my oil cooler after having not ridden for several days. The only thing I can think that would have caused it was putting pressure on the lines while installing a belt cover. I'm a little curious as to why the oil is pink colored? I thought the oil cooler took oil from the engine and cooled it?
The leak is coming from the point where the hose connects to the cooler. Is this a big issue or something I can let slide a while and still ride?

Most likely because that is the color of your oil  Klotz is red.  Some are honey colored, some various shades of green and even purple.

Do you have anything directly above it like a K&N? It does take it's oil from the engine so if you don't have red oil, it's from somewhere else.

I had an over oiled air filter which dripped onto everything below it once.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

I do have a K&N and considered that might be the cause as I oiled it a couple weeks ago and then left on a work trip. Once I wipe it off it takes a while to come back. I ran the engine today to see if made things worse on the theory that there would be more pressure in the system. No change, I briefly looked for air box leaking, but I didn't see anything. K&N oil does seem to be the most likely culprit though. I'll have to take a more thorough look. The only saving grace is that it's too freaking hot to ride so I'm not missing out on much [thumbsup]

I had the same symptoms last time I cleaned the air filter. I over-oiled it and it was seeping down over the oil cooler. Just a stupid mistake on my part.

get the bike warm then clean everything off and spray it with powdered foot spray and run it again.

the spray will isolate the leak.
