i have an 06 monster s2r and theres an issue with my cluster.
the whole left side is not working, and i can't see how fast I'm riding.
the odo works fine.
when i opened the cluster up there was a bit of water in there, so looking at seeing what I'm looking at here to fix it up, or someone that can.
heres some pics, as you can see no lights or anything on one side.
the needle doesn't sweep.
i madu sure it wasn't the wiring after plugging in another luster and both needles sweep and functions fine.

any help is appreciated

I would have suggested taking the back off and leaving the rest of it complete and placing it in a bag with dry rice to dry it all out.

going as far as you have and still having it work leads me to think something shorted or fried. possibly due to the water, but not necessarily.

it looks to me like you need a new dash, unless you are savvy enough to diagnose your dash at every solder point. even then you would be at the mercy of your ability to source replacement parts in order to actually fix anything that was broken.

First step would be to clean all that corrosion you see on the board (green and reddish stuff). I used a q-tip and alcohol, but there is probably something better for that. The LEDs also likely would need to be replaced. If odo, and warning lights all work, see how much of the speedo motor you can clean up and test everything before putting it all back together. (It gets really tiresome otherwise).

Not sure how to diagnose much more than that, as I had water in my cluster, but it started an issue with the turn signals instead.
M620 turned M800 but then back to M620 after the M800 died at 110k, and now to Multi 1000.

all the green stuff has been cleaned off.
and none of soldering has come off.

i guess what I'm really after is which one of these powers the motor so that i can replace it.
i did talk to some company that said they will do $300 to fix it, but for the most part i think its just one part that is burned off and can't be $300 to re-solder one on, i just don't know which one is so i posted here hoping someone would know since these dashes seem to be going out all the time...

often times the cost of a specialist is for knowledge first and actual parts/labor second.

the lack of answers to your questions would indicate that this is very specific knowledge, probably worth it.

plus 300$ to fix yours seems fair.To put it into perspective, a used unit will be at least that and then you would have to deal with your immobilizer.
the easiest way to do that is to flash your ECU, which also costs 300$. flashing an ecu requires no parts, no hand tools and takes about 15 minutes. only your ecu, a 10$ cable and a small device similar to a code reader (maybe a 300$ tool, tops). but you pay for the knowledge. happens alot actually

i sent them an email as well, they said that maybe they will need to buy another cluster and charge me for that and make one good one. said to ship them so they can take a look at it.
not sure still what to do

thinking maybe just get this stupid immobilizer removed and get something small instead..
