Not sure how these would go, or even if they would fit.
But at the price, Im prepared to be the guinea pig...

I do remember a technical discussion on these popping up on a board somewhere.  It went into great detail regarding lumens,  light output, pattern, energy consumption etc etc.  After many pages of technical reading it was finally determined that they suck.

Well it turned up last week.
News is, it dosen't fit the standard headlight bucket!  Sad

the fan shroud at the back of the light, touches the back of the bucket and you cant get the  healight back in.

Ahh well..   drink

hmmm. hadn't clicked on that thread!  waytogo

I wont be going down that path, but I might try removing the shroud to get a bit more clearence. It only misses out by a bit.

I've got one of these coming:
http://stores.advmonster.com/h4-r3-led-headlight/

I chatted at length with the owner, it was a very informative discussion.

The above unit looks like it will fit inside the OEM shell.

I figure if he can hang with the ADVRider gang, he's got good stuff.

I have good news and not-so-good news.

FWIW, it comes in a nice blingy box if you buy two.
Build quality looks good.
Flexy mesh heatsink is a novel idea.
It fits into both the early glass and late plastic lens reflector assembly.

Not-so-good news... it will not fit into either the steel or plastic bucket without some modification.
Too deep by about 3/8".
 Sad

I'm not particularly bothered by that, it's not going to stop me from trying it.
I've already got a bucket that's hacked out for a previous light (a POS-HID IIRC).

Stay tuned.

Fitted one to a customer's 695, and they loved it.

Plastic bucket needed about a 1 1/4" diameter hole cut in the very back.
It's just enough to allow the mesh heatsink to bend a radius and go back into the housing.
As well as allow a decent radius bend of the wire.
You could even tape over the hole if you wanted.

With a bit of fiddling, the voltage converter box and the 3-prong plug will nest inside the bucket.

So, it doesn't take up any extra space outside of the bucket.

In a stroke of genius, I took no pictures.  bang head

But I will.
And I'll take pics of my fitment to my metal bucket.
