I'm concerned by the integral subframe, and the clipons being part of the upper triple.
This will drive crash damage repair costs up dramatically, IMO.

It's a full-size bike, I'm 6'1" and fit on it OK.

I wouldn't say too tall.

I was a bit surprised, as it's not a big bike, I expected it to feel more cramped.

The R3 and CBR300 look big, they've got big bodywork, and with one parked next to an R6 or CBR600, the skinny tires and single disk would be the only visual cues giving it away.

The 390 is smaller, and from all indications is 40-50 pounds lighter than the Yamaha and Honda.
It weighs what it should, the Yammie and Honda are porkers.

Agreed. Dumb moves for a supposed race bike. The clip-on issue can probably be fixed relatively easy, but the subframe would be tough.

I'm somewhat considering an RC390 next spring and the subframe (or lack there of) would be one of my first mods.  I would have NO problem cutting off the OE ass-end of the frame for something more tidy in AL or TI...

Hell, it's already got 50# less than the R3, Ninja300 & CBR300 so why not make it even more embarassing!

I've been considering adding a small displacement bike for track fun ever since borrowing a Ninja 250 for a couple hours at the track. It's seriously addicting how much fun you can have on those little things and super cheap to run.

The RC390 is bike I'd like to have, but at $5,500 before mods I think i'm going to have to look for a Ninja 250 or 300.
