It's been a while since I rode one, but I recall they ran decent stock.
Trim is adjustable, and no wonky air idle valve.

The last one I rode had big-bore hi-comps (1079cc), light flywheel and BST's on it.
It was pretty snappy.

I forget what Steve uses, but he can tune without a piggy back.  Yep, open loop 1000 DS is much less wonky than the closed loop variety.

Congrats Howie. Now that my leg is (mostly) healed, I need to get mind up to Steve. Maybe we'll get a lucky 50 degree day in the next couple of weeks.
