There is an awesome deal online for a Star Carbon.  Don't usually buy helmets online but this is 400.00 off and I love the style.

Anyone wearing one?  I wear a Arai Corsair V now and love the fit but hate the interior.  Anyone have any thoughts on the Bell Star Carbon?

I have a Star, not a carbon though.  Love the helmet.  Comfy, quiet, fogs less than any helmet I ever had and great ventilation.  Needless to say, it needs to fit your head though, not mine.

I have a couple Bell Stars...fantastic helmets IMO. Like Howie said, they have to fit your head though.

Bell also has the best visors in the business IMO. The photochromic visor is fantastic, as you don't need a dark shield or sunglasses. Best street visor made by anyone. You can also use their snowmobile visor on the Star, which is dual pane and prevents fogging no matter what, even in the absolute worst conditions.  waytogo

Thanks gentlemen!  I may have to just go for it.  Hopefully they have a decent return policy if it does not fit well.  Love my Arai's shape I think it is described as long oval.

Simply a great price and hard to say no.

You should try to find a local shop that carries it or the brand, so you can try it on or a similar model. That's what I did before I bought my current lid online.

If it doesn't fit, sell it and make some money.

What, are you keeping them all to yourself?  Link, man!

If everyone does that then there won't be any more local shops for you to try things on.

He's already buying online, so I'm not really seeing it. Also I didn't tell him, never buy from any local shop again.  While I'm sure there are some gear/accessories only local shops, Cycle Gear (I think it's called) comes to mind, most places I know around here are attached to dealerships.

I was just commenting that you went to a local place to try on a helmet, then bought the helmet on-line instead. That's what you were suggesting he do.

The dealer where you tried it on, whether a moto dealer or just a gear dealer, had to pay for that helmet to get it on their shelves so you could try it on. IMO, if you liked the helmet you (or anyone, not trying to single you out) should just buy it there, and pay for the convenience of having a local dealer around. Alternatively, just buy on-line and deal with returning if it doesn't fit.

Just something to consider.

Cycle Gear

I really dislike that place.  Bought a few things as you can walk in and see a wide range of stuff you can't see elsewhere.  Here in Sacramento the dealerships don't carry much of squat so it's the best overall place to go for misc accessories, chemicals etc etc.  Still hate it.

If I go in a dealer to fit a helmet I am going to buy that helmet there.  Although were I to do that, doing it at Cycle Gear would not seem at all bad.  Evil

Teh link fo the helmet was posted to a different forum so I did not derby it here.  Freaking good deal though at $299.99 and the ability to resit the purchase may be difficult....

Revzilla is having some close-outs on a few Bell Stars, including the carbon.

STG also having a close-out on the carbon Star

Ok and I was replying that I don't think that equates to the local shop going out of business.  Somethings are cheaper online and somethings local. In my case, I was saving $150 to by buying it online. Anyway, I'm not trying to start a debate / thread hijack and in no way feel like your attacking me ( Just want to put that in there since text as no emotion).

Browsing quickly through Revzilla's videos and WebBikeWorld puts the Quantum as a 'round' - like the Bell Star - more or less...

Fixed, must not have been paying attention.  I have a Corsair 5  not a Quantum.  Had a quantum  while back and I am easily confused lol.
