part of owning a monster is making it your own no matter what anybody else says, purist or not. putists wash their bikes everytime they ride it. hell with that. I bought my bike to ride. I tore it down and powdercoated all kinds of shit so there's less time washing(cleans really easy) and more time riding and it looks kickass to boot. if you gotta piss 5 people off to make yourself happy and impress 20 people than I say hack the hell out of it and make it YOUR monster, I did (only I didn't cut as much off).

it looks to me like you are making a SS. dont ss swingarms already have a brace and shock setup similar to what your planning? i dont think they have a linkage setup though, just a shock from the swingarm to the frame. maybe that would be easier so you dont have to mess with linkage ratios and whatnot.

ya i was planning on going SS style with a stock ss swinger. I couldnt find a swinger for a reasonable price and i want linkage. I couldnt really do much tuning without linkage. With linkage i can adjust ride height, and switch out rockers to adjust leverage ratios, and adjust my wheel travel.

but if you change the rocker ratio, you would need to change the spring rate.

I'm impressed man, you're very brave. Are there calculations you do to work out the spring rate and geometry etc? Can't wait to see it progress, looks like it's going to be killer.

thanks everyone. I love comments. Ive had no time to work on the bike lately. I go in to work at 10 and get home at 8. I am bringing my triples to sandblast at work tomorrow.

The 954 shock in in the mail headed my way, TN, from NC. Should be here in a day or so.

Got my speedometer in today. Its tiny, like an inch by an inch and a half. Gonna mount on my top triple with a custom mount ill fab up.

IM having trouble with my linkage design so far. My shock only has 57mm of travel and i need more. 6 inches of wheel travel would be awesome, but im going to have to settle for 5.5 or even 5.3. Im not too happy about that.

My dad is going to have me build his 160cc Duc into a dirtbike. Another project for me!!!! As if my hands were not full already. Oh well, it will be neat, and ill get some money from it to fund my stuff.

I have sunday and monday off so ill get alot of work done then.  STAY TUNED
