So the answer is *no*. I was always under the impression that the plumber's tape and deck screws were installed to hold the bones in a proper fixed position until they had healed. Marc seems to think his humerus was replaced with a 100% functional part or the repair was totally complete and normal service would resume after they stitched him up. |

And that the doctors never told them the plate might be damaged by riding.
