They’re all head cases, but that’s what drives them to chase perfection. Perfection is not attainable, but if we chase perfection we can catch excellence. I kinda knew some of this, but learned an immense amount from https://motomatters.com/analysis/2021/06/29/maverick_vi_ales_wild_weird_weekend_and.html In particular, his analysis of why Quantararo was able to set up passing opportunities that Viñales found "impossible" on the Yamaha opened my eyes. I wish Maverick all the best with Aprilia if that's where he lands, though I find it hard to imagine he'll find that bike and the factory's ability to respond quickly to his feedback more to his liking. But for a real shitshow, play out what it would look like if the alternative speculations that put him on the seat of a Ducati with the VR46 team come true...  |
