There was talk earlier on this forum about a cop taking the key out of the bike after making a traffic stop as a way of insuring the rider would not try to take off.  The cop went on about how there is a guy on a yellow Ducati that has run from him in the past....
Perhaps it was this mythical rider that was evading the Sheriff this morning in front of Alice's.  Minding my own business waiting for my turn on the Hypermotard Demo, I glanced up to see a yellow 748/749 coming Eastbound from La Honda, turning Southbound on 35.  He/She was looking back before blowing the stop sign and grabbing a handful of throttle.  A moment later a Sheriff in a Ford Expedition with lights going but no siren made the same turn.  Without the siren, few folks standing around took notice of the 8 second event.  Wonder if they got caught?

a Ford Expedition is no match for a 748, but then again there's no car or bike that can outran a Motorola.

Depends on who's operating the Motorola  Grin

Too many cops have pulled that BS about the yellow Duc who runs from them. If any cop pulls that on you, tell them they caught the guy.

That could work well.

"We had to take your key-there's a guy on a yellow Ducati who keeps running from us."

"You caught the guy."

"You're him?!? *pulling weapon* ON THE GROUND PUNK!!"

Hrm-mebbe not.

Heh, I guess police harassment is a point against picking up a yellow 748 someday. So pretty, though...

As this bike has been confirmed to exist, perhaps we can swap, 'mythical' for 'legendary'?

As he/she's so slippery, maybe they should go be the name,

'The [Legendary] Masked Banana'?

There was a Guy up at 4 corners a while back with what I believe was an early 2000 gixxer. One side of his bike had red fairings and the other had black. When I asked him about it he said he used it to avoid the cops. He'd just burn them and make a U turn and pass them by..Brilliant idea, though my monster has only brought me good luck with the cops. Pulled over many times but always a warning.
