Monster frame interchangability

Okay, I have an oddball question.
Bought an 06 S2R (wrecked) and will probably have to replace the frame due to the Salvage Title and damage.

Okay, my question:
I see that Ducati made 800 cc Monsters before the S2R--at least as far back as 2004. I can speculate that the earlier 750cc Monsters were also very similar...and perhaps the 900cc ones as well. Does anyone know if the frames from any of the earlier 750/800/900 Monsters will be a straight swap for the S2R's frame? FWIW, the part numbers on the ones I have checked (thanks to ProItalia's online parts manuals) all have different part numbers, but that may be something as simple as paint color...

If everything will bolt on, that will open up some options for me as far as searching and buying.

Thank you all, and Happy New Year, Rich

If not mistaken, anything 2002-2008 you can use . . . There are some folks here who've done this before and have FHE . . .

Thank you for the reply.
To anyone else who may be reading...would an S4R frame work as well?
I have no idea what the engine mount pattern is between the 2v and 4v engines, but if Ducati is really smart (and if i am really lucky), they may be the same.

2V and 4V frames have different cross member placement. Mount placement is the same.

Not sure if it will work for you.

Almost any 2V frame will work. You might have to relieve the motor mount bolt holes as the early M series bikes had 10mm bolts.

Great info, and thank you.
A friend found a 4v frame on eBay, but I was concerned that it might not fit.
Stick with 2v frames...check.  :)

yep, that cross member interferes with the throttle bodies when swapping 2v to 4v.

The only straight bolt-up swap for an S2R800 is another S2R; 800 or 1000.

I thought the '06 S2R1000 had different coil mounting or such, but it's the same part number.

Later S2R have the little pegs for mounting the wiring saddles, otherwise the same.

'02 and later M620, M750, M800, M900, and M1000 will fit your engine and rear suspension parts.
But they won't have the brackets for your passenger pegs, nor the muffler mount.
And they'll have brackets for the Gen1 and Gen2 footpeg assemblies, which will be of no use to you.
Rear coil bracket is different, dunno if that'll cause a problem.

'01 and earlier won't fit your front or rear suspension parts.
