I would like to upgrade my 2004 "base" Multi 1000 DS with Ohlins front forks, a rear Ohlins shock, and some sort of steering damper.  My questions are:

1)  Will I need a new set of triple clamps for the Ohlins front forks?

2)  What is the recommended brand of Steering Damper for this bike, and,

3)  What already sourced Ohlins rear shock is compatible with an '04 MTS 1000 DS

Any advice or first hand experience with this sort of project would be greatly appreciated!

Search the internet, you might find a used set . . . better if before mounting, you have them valved for your weight/riding style . . . As per parts catalog, same triples for both . . . You can also put Ohlins internals in your Showa . . . just a thought . . .

Now, if you need a steering damper, then you must first tune your suspension . . . If after said job, you still feel/think you need one, many brands available, just need to find something in your budget . . .
