It seems that would be easy enough to make a couple of little clips to slide in under the windshield seam with a rubber springy clip that allow a guy to hold a spare visor, but are any of these available commercially?

I dont think so. Loosing a visor would suck. They have tearoffs for that reason though. And i just wear sunglasses because i often ride until the sun goes down and i can jsut take them out.

get an extra set of your helmet's mounting hardware if applicable and find a place to mount them w/ dimensions similar to your helmet.  that should be  more secure than a clip or pocket depending on the system your helmet uses.  I've had this idea for a while and two helmets latter still haven't done it.

meh, i just ride with a dark visor.

Me too, although i could use a brighter headlight bulb on the undivided highway and back roads I use to get home.  +1 on the sunglasses too.  I use them a lot even when riding with the smoked dark smoke visor.  That being said, the other night I was driving home and it was a little foggy, as well as real dark.  There were some lights in the distance that kind of lost my attention for a bit, and when I noticed them a bit, I had a small panic attack for a second before realizing it was a not a car approaching in my lane out of thin air.  No I was not on drugs or drinking, but I was a little tired.  With the visor up it was a different story, but it was windy with it open.  Made me think I'm pressing my luck without a brighter bulb, properly aimed headlight and/or a clear visor at night.

My wife made me a sling 'holster' for what ever shield I am not wearing.  It just goes under my jacket, around my neck, and under my armpit, and the shield has a similar contour to my rib cage.  I am sure they are available commercially as well.

I've seen something similar in the swag section on one of the Motorcycle rags...

I personally ride with a Momo helmet that's open faced when I think it'll be dark when I leave, so I can wear sunglasses in and goggles home.  I get really bad fogging inside my helmet so sunglasses under a clear visor is not an option.

Some jackets have a spare visor pocket built in, for example the Joe Rocket Phoenix 4.0 [thumbsup]

And its on clearance!

I have the first version of that jacket with perf leather shoulders/outer arms, and the only bad thing is the back protector acts like a parachute trapping air when you're riding with any speed.  I took mine off with the intention of drilling holes into it so it can be usable...

I went looking for my pheonix mesh and looked for pockets but i realized i have the older version. 2.0? 3.0? i got it of new enough for $20! great jacket! however unless ur a thin person, that visor might end up cracked down the middle.

Wow, something like that under your jacket, isn't that gonna do you some damage if "allah forbid" you come off?

The visor hugs your torso, and the jacket fits tight so I don't really see how it would.  Plus, it is flexible plastic with rounded edges.  I am not worried about it.

kind of like this, but it has a sling that goes around my shoulder, so it sits up under my armpit

Ummmm... That looks too much like a fag bag for me.  [evil]  But thanks for all the options.  [moto]

That space is already occupied by the Roscoe.
