On the marzocci forks, they had a 20mm axle on the 1st gen monsters. The ones with the 40mm caliper mount. Was there ever a 25mm axle with the 40mm caliper mounts? This is why. I found some Showa forks that are adjustable and of the same vintage as my marzocci forks. But the seller says 25mm axle. All of the 25 mm axles I remember seeing have the alignment notches. The forks I'm looking at dont have the notches that correspond with the alignment tool. Am I totally mental or am I right?

Pretty sure...I've been wrong before.

All the forks with 40mm caliper spacing used a small axle and had the fender mounting tabs cast on the legs.

The forks with 25mm axles used the plastic bands for fender mounting.

Thanks DP. That's what I thought. I ended up letting them go. It's hard to turn down a set of adjustable forks for $225 but that could go for making the ones I have better if only a little bit. I've never done springs and oil in my OEM, probably way past due.
