Hi all, Lance from the DFW area.  I have a 2004 1000s i.e. with many mods including built engine.  My other bikes are a 1975 CB 750, 1989 GSXR 1100, 2013 Z1000 and a scooter.  I have been riding on the street for 25 years, before that dirt since I was old enough to ride a bicycle.  I may be older than dirt...

Hi Lance; I *am* older than dirt.  Welcome aboard.  Love the 1000 air-cooled engine ... have a 2003 1000SS track bike and 2006 1000SS street bike project.   That Z1000 is a neat bike; how do you like it?

The SS is my favorite model with a fairing.  I plan to buy one someday, but I'm typically a sucker for naked bikes.  The right deal with come up eventually.  As far as the Z1000 goes, I absolutely love it.  It's fairly comfortable with a standard riding position and has more power than you can use on the street.  It power wheelies in first gear if you don't hold it down.  Plus, it always starts and runs great and doesn't ever leak anything.  That's something I can't say about my Ducati.
