Clear coat for carbon fiber

The sun is shining but my Italian Chrome is not.  Does anyone have any tips on clear coating carbon fiber that can be a DIY?  Product names would be helpful as years ago someone kept telling me "just get clear coat... You know, clear coat
, (you dumba$$)".   Would appreciate any prep and application tips as we'll.

there's a DIY painting thread. Ask a pro painter there. I'm sure the question has already been asked there a few times I reckon. Try the search function too, it might come up (probably in that thread).
