1994 M600 - Won't Start?

I took a trip up North to check out a '94 M600.  It turned over nice and strong, 120 PSI on both cylinders, it has power to the CDI's but no spark!

I took a spare set of working CDI's, coils and leads.  Still no spark!

I stupidly grabbed my OBD tester mistaking it for my multimeter so I was unable to test the resistance on the ignition pick-up, which I suspect maybe the issue.  The wiring to the rectifier was a complete mess, am I correct in thinking this shouldn't effect the starting?

Any opinion, suggestion or comment most welcome.

Cheers  [thumbsup]

Marty.

pull the caps off the leads, cut the end 10 mm off and refit the caps.

verfiy voltage at coils and units when cranking.  check all resistances, etc.  just the usual shit really.

Yeap, going to remember the multimeter next time!  I have a spare ignition pick-up so I'll fit that and see how it goes!

in case you don't know, 95-100 ohms for the pick ups.  With the key on are you getting power to the brown ( I think, anyway, wire from the kill switch) wires at the modules and coils?  Seems to me it is unlikely both pick ups, coil;s or module would fail at the same time.

ducatiz

upgrade those coils to snap-in type leads and dump the wire screw type.  Never have an issue with them at all.

Also -- always carry a multi.  I have this on my bike.  it';s about 4" wide and about 1/2" thick

"Yelling out of cars, turning your speakers out the window to blast your music onto the street, setting off M-80 firecrackers, firing automatic weapons into the airâ€"these are all well and good. But none of them create a merry atmosphere of insouciance and bonhomie quite like a revving motorcycle.

It was the ignition pick-up she fired up first turn  ;D
