The Hampton Roads duc riders would like to cordially extend an invitation to our Richmond bretheren to have a meet.
We've been kicking around the idea of an invite for a while, and have narrowed the choices to:

A) A DIMBY style BBQ in my backyard here in beautiful Norfolk(Nomake the beast with two backs) Virginia,

Or...
B) A get together at Busch Gardens on some sunny day in either August or September.
Either one would have to be on a weekend, and the date is otherwise open. I'll open the floor to suggestions at this point.

Discuss.

if you are going to use Busch Gardens, you might want to do it before it gets sold off as that is one of the many speculative things the owners of Anheuser-Busch are going to do to pay down the debt from their new purchase

I think it will be months before they sell it off.  I heard this morning that they are eliminating 1200 jobs initially through early retirement and retirement packages at first and then they'll decide what to do with the parks.  But, one never knows.
Some people are like Slinkies. They're really good for nothing; however, they can still bring a smile to your face when you push them down a flight of stairs.

Even if they sold it today, it would still take months to change ownership, and noone in their right mind is going to close that place down. It's a cash cow, especially now that people are driving less.

I would be in for a Busch Gardens trip!  I live much further north, but could possibly get some of our northern brethren to ride down!

SWEET!
Absolutely, it should be open to all, I just didn't know if anyone would want to come from further away.
What was I thinking. . .ROADTRIP!!
O.K. Sounds like Busch Gardens is the choice.
Now, WHEN?
I've got every weekend in August and September open (I have a life, I just don't schedule it.).

Anything between the weekend of Aug 16/17  and Sep 6/7 works for me, after that I will be up in DC as noted in another thread.

Why don't you guys get on those Ducs and meet us in between like maybe Colonial Beach, there are good roads from No, Va., Richmond, and West Point which is not too far from Hampton, think about it - Gene

Certainly doesn't have to be Busch Gardens for me...I am up for whichever!

Bun-bun

Tentatively, were going to schedule a meet up at Busch Gardens on Sunday, August 31 at 10;00 am. I'll post directions, and a meeting place outside the park asap.
If you intend to go, please post here. If we get enough commitments, I'll try to get a group rate on tickets, and see if one of the area bike shops wants to sponsor drinks or t-shirts or something for everybody.
