I definitely want to see that house when it is done.

I saw recently that freight shipping containers were also being used for housing.. but the plane is way cool!

Not to be a party pooper here, but how much more environmental impact did this 2 million dollar home have than a conventional home? Did you see that chopper?! And the "lot" is the top of a damn mountain! All so she can meditate in her Boeing nose...

Just because you're re-using something, doesn't make it environmentally friendly. I'm not saying she shouldn't have done it. It's a cool idea, and will likely be a neat place when it's done. But trying to bill it as "my mom's a hippie" or environmentally friendly?!

Ok, grumpy rant over. Carry on...

On a less grumpy and more related note, does anyone have a link to the boat that was made from a jet fuselage and parts of the wings?

HEY!!! it's green because  she said its green.

The chopper used waste oil from Taco Bell, so that made it all better ;)

I think it's cool and all (sans the meditation cone of silence thing), but to say it's eco friendly, is a joke.

Gaspar, Melchior and Balthasar kicked me out of the band..... they said I didnt fit the image they were trying to project.

So I went solo.  -Me

yeah, nothing says "eco-friendly" like multiple trips to the top of a mountain with a chinook...

Big thing is, is the house green in design? aka, do you have to pump gas into the furnace just to keep the place warm, or crank the ac to max to keep it cool. There are houses built out of rubber tires that are actually VERY eco friendly considering they are temp regulated by the soil they are built into.

It's aluminum (and cinder blocks, from the pictures in the video). It would have to be pretty well insulated to hold a reasonable temp on it's own.

However, it IS in Malibu. Pretty temperate there, from what I understand. She may need little more than mild a/c and wind protection. Maybe some wildfire protection....
