My 04 620 monster wont charge. With a fully charged battery while idling, I'm getting 12.1 volts, when i rev the motor above 3000rpm, I'm getting 12.5. I believe i did all the stator checks correctly, 60 volts ac across all 3 phases, No resistance between all 3 phases, and no resistance between the 3 wires and the negative terminal. So thinking i have a good stator, I bought a new reg/rectifier from Cal Cycleworks. Still the same result. Oh when the bike is running, the reg/rectifier gets warm.

Am I missing something here? Thanks.

There's a 40 Amp fuse next to the battery, likely that's blown.

OK thanks I'll check that.

Puled the fuse and it looked good. Replaced it anyway. same result.  Thanks for the help. Not sure what to do next, maybe hardwire the Regulator to the battery.

I just had this same problem with my 2011 m796. I realize they are different bikes but I did the same thing as you. Tested everything, replaced R/R, greased all connectors, checked fuses and changed battery... finally replaced stator and wouldn't you know...works great now! I tested the stator like I said, but the values just didn't seem high enough. Ranging from 40 to 60 v during revs. Now it is much higher and more consistent. Battery voltage jumps up right after ignition.

My stator was getting weak over time, it didn't just quit. Just my experience, hope this helps.

Thanks for the help. I'm going to go through the electosport chart and est the stator again.

Just to close out this thread, it ended up being a bad stator.
