I have googled unsuccessfully to find some sort of guide to Brembo Rotors or any rotors for that matter. I always see people commenting rotor X is better than Y but have never seen a write up for this.

Here are pictures of what I have. I need to decide what I am keeping and what I am selling. I think they are the same size rotors but honestly do not know for sure. Both have no markings other than the Min 4.00mm mark on them. Both are 5 bolt rotors.

Which rotors here are better?
Also is there a good write up out there so I can be more educated on rotors/brakes?

Silver carrier, with full floating buttons from TPO added by previous owner.

IMO, no functional difference between those rotors, other than the floating buttons.

There may be offset differences, I've seen some wackyness in the 5-bolt stuff.

Place a flat edge like a ruler across the face of the rotor, then measure the offset between said edge, and the carrier. Voila, offset measured.

Looks like this is going to be a no brainer. The silver rotors are 15mm that I need and the black are 10mm. I did find out the full floating buttons don't have the correct shims though. No wonder they were so loose.

Full floaters have no shims. Semi floaters have shims

Full floaters have no shims. Semi floaters have shims
Aftermarket buttons, like STM or Corse Dynamics, for full floaters use shims because there are two thicknesses of rotor blades and only one length button. The shim, or washer, also protects the clip.

Seeing as they are 4.5mm rotors I'll be switching from a 0.5mm shim to a 1mm shim. They should still be loose once it's done.

Thanks, that is where I ordered them from. I couldn't find anything local. Should get here Monday.

I got the 14mm x 20mm x 1mm stainless steel shims from McMaster-Carr (see Speeddogs post). They fit perfect like it should have been in the first place. Still full floating and kept that tambourine sound.  I might anodized the carriers this winter. For now I want to get my bike back up so I can ride. Dolph
