I a fan of Insignia.  Not sure if they are available where you are though.

VIZIO is pretty good. My sister in law has a couple that I have watched extensively. For some reason I have Samsung. I'm thinking of getting a larger screen myself at some point.

i've been doing some reading and basically if I want UHD/4K it WILL HAVE smart tv . . . found a Samsung 40" locally that "sort of" falls into what I'm looking for . . . UHD but no 4K . . . so, gonna think bout it

TV will have a companion, HT Receiver gave the ghost up and the the best value-features I've found are the Vizio for $529.00[even with shipping and taxes is better than local offer for a 40"] and the HT Receiver will be a Marantz 7.2ch , not sold locally, plus it has PHONO input and I have a Technics SL-900 turntable

Got a deal on the Marantz on another site for a few $ less since it has some cosmetic issues, that I will NOT see once in place, that link is just for reference, cannot find the other one

Will also get a sound bar for the missus' TV
