So I decided to use Motul oil based on previous experience... For my M1200S would 7100 10W-40 be best?   Their web site sates there is a 7100 15W-50 available but it seems not to be available anywhere online.

Thanks.

Thanks!

It's interesting how I can get 15w50 in Motul's other lines but not in 7100.  That is in the US.  International sellers on eBay have it, but I'd rather not deal with international shipping just for oil.

use 300V . . .

I was thinking of using 300V.  But is it ok for street use with changes every 3000 miles?

it was the one "recommended by the factory" in an un-official communication, since OEM supplier here could not procure our needs and we only used 10W40 . . what they using now, I have NO idea . . in my shop I am using Motul and Repsol

if you want to change every 3K miles is up to you, we do it once a year here and still has some of the green colour after 5Kmiles or about 8K kms

If you only change once a year make sure to perform the change before any periods of storage.

Here's the response I just got from Motul...

Hi Nick,

That is correct, we do not have the 7100 15w50 here in the US. The 300V will work perfectly in your Ducati and it is a favorite among Ducati owners. The drain interval you plan on doing is right in line with our recommendation of 3,000 miles for 300V.
