78810651A Gasket vs Sealant for M1200 corse oil screen cap?

Just wondering if anyone knows if this crush gasket (78810651A) is suitable to use on the M1200S?  Using a gasket seems less prone to user error vs using sealant. 

I understand that since this is a crush gasket it's a one time use item.

factory manual says to use silicone sealant . . . that's what I use and used at dealership's shop . . .

just clean well, apply about a 2mm thick layer and replace the o-rings of the oil strainer or pre-filter . . . replace the washer on the oil drain plug and apply a layer of sealant on the screw, about halfway towards the head no more than 3~4mm . . .
