I'm trying to troubleshoot some wiring with euro headlight on/off switch and my bike's wiring harness. The previous owner changed the wiring harness to work with an HID set up.

Can someone take a picture of the main wiring harness that connects with starter switch side? I need to see what wires and colors go into the plug.

I can tell you the colors of the seven wires going in the right hand switch if that helps (S2R 800, but the same?)

I want the pic from the same wiring harness to be 100% certain. Thanks though.
I have workshop and owners manual. The wiring diagrams are different on the two.

I guess even a list of what you see is OK but I'd like a pic. The Euro right hand light switch is supposed to be plug and play. The way Theo messed with the wiring though is different from stock. I want to put it back to stock. Or at least confirm it was plug and play on the S4RS too.

On second thought Lars can you post a pic of yours? Also your Euro switch was plug and play right?

Has anyone installed one of the euro right hand switches on an S4RS/S4RT and can confirm it's plug and play?

Maybe we're not talking about the same thing.... When you say "Euro" switch - do you mean a switchgear/-box with a separate on/off for the headlight? Mine is just a normal right hand switchgear.

Anyway: plug has eight positions. Only seven are in use.

The side with three wires: all three are red with yellow stripe
The side with four wires (first picture): red with black stripe, red with yellow stripe, black, blue with white stripe

This is what I am talking about. The pic or description I want is of the plug that comes off the bikes main wiring harness that plugs into this control.

#35 is the RH Switch Connector. Stock it should be sitting behind the headlight like this picture. The top side (the arrow is pointing too) should be the wiring harness side. Of course if wiring has been moved around I am not sure where it is. :\

Still working on this?  I had that euro switch on my '07 S4Rs until quite recently.  Yes, it was plug and play.  I just returned mine to stock; have the euro switch on my workbench, lengthening the wiring to go on my DS1000SS roadster project.  I can post photos if they will help.  (Euro switch below looks smaller because of the closeup photo, they are identical in size.)

I'm kind of working on it. I have it wired up right now so it works but it's not how it was stock. I was trying to get a pic of the bike's main wiring harness connector that connects to that switch. My bike doesn't have all the wires coming out of it to make it truly plug and play.

Thanks for letting me know it is plug and play. I think I can now say for certain my wiring harness was modified. Maybe someday if I strip the bike down to have the frame repainted I'll buy a new harness.
