1100DS cough off idle

Greetings fellow motor heads! My bike may not be a Ducati, but it does have the same engine as my Monster had. The bike runs beautifully, but on occasion it will cough or spit when coming just off idle, as in leaving an intersection. I have tipped over because of this when turning from a stop a couple of times. What causes this? Is it too lean off idle maybe?
Thank you for any elucidation regarding this annoying little glitch!
PS, it has a Pegasu ecu, not too common!

Best, Spike

Since it uses a different ECU, your symptoms sound maybe like the stepper motor might be "slacking" . . . Your engine still has the air-bleed screws and as I was told once by my Service Manager from the factory[Ducati], you should turn out said screws 1/4 turn at a time but NO more than 1/2 turn each . . . this should take care of that issue, this issue is also present on many 796/1100 motors, althought I worked mostly on the 796 and one 1100

You might also need to reset TPS.

I adjusted the valves a couple of hundred miles ago and that made the engine run smoother, it has 10445 miles on it now. I will reset the tps next, I have the software to do it, that was on my list to attend to.
About the air bleed screws, it came with them out 1 turn, I tryed turning them in 1/4, and that made it run very badly. It idles best with them at one turn out.
Many thanks for the suggestions!

"dirt deposits" in air bypass channel or in throttle boobies walls . .   Happens a lot here and in humid climates on cars and bikes
