A long standing tradition appears to have met it's end.........

APD has said we no longer can park our bikes on the sidewalk out front of Mings (Austin).

Hakan, Ivo and myself were leaving Mings last night and the APD pulled us over to talk about it.  No tickets were issued, but the warning has been given.....seems they've had some complaints......also seems everybody can "do their own thing"  in this town except motorcyclists......I guess the rear lot will be our hallowed ground from now on!

That's shite... It's the same situation up here in Dallas near Greenville.  Parking is scare if any and motorcycle parking on the sidewalk will get you a ticket.

As a former downtown bicycle-punk, I always thought that was a f*cked-up place to park.

(of course, I'm not above participating in some f*cked-up sh!t)

SpaceG, we stayed for about 1/2 hour after you left......cop was not stalking us but said that he's "been meaning to come and do something about it", but hadn't found the time....yet.  Clearly he found the time last night. Police

Ming loyalists, expect some "conversation" from Johnny Law next week....stay tuned!

Heiro, you know THAT spot is for His Highness Fai !!

In all seriousness though, I think that's where we'll have to park --- along the side...but that other restaraunt in the back draws a lot of customers too.....fist fights for parking on Guadalupe -- another social castastrophe !!! bang head

And Joe, this pot is polished copper!!!

Well son of a b*tch!!  I just get to Austin and finally found Ming's today and the old tradition is no more?!

Is it worth it then coming into town now tonight?  Is anyone else going there?  It sure is a beautiful day to be out riding!!  Not too hot with the clouds and breeze!  waytogo

NEVERMIND..5:30 and it looks like we're catching part of the hurricane out there!!

Yeah, crap-can turn out tonight......scared of a little rain?  Cry

Uh, none fell the whole time we were there........ Grin

We parked alongside the restaraunt...Fai brought his righteous Camaro SS and block the area for us.....plenty of room...

Fai is strongly considering fighting City Hall on this one......"Selective Enforcement" is his battle cry...The University of Texas is right there and all their bike riding glory, for craps sake.....I'm sure we will have to make up signs and march on the Mayor's office  ** FREE FAI !!! **

Just can't wait for the televised mug shots (a la Nick Nolte!) and his spots in front of the Austin City Council on C-Span!!!
