If I knew how to caption each photo...but from the top:
Took a 6"x24" piece of .090" anodized aluminum sheet and bent one end down to hold the license plate, then made the holes and cutouts necessary to fit it in between the subframe tubes on top of the existing threaded tabs that held the crankcase vent tank and plastic fender. It's also bolted to the rear crosspiece that holds the seat latch.  Fitting the 749 Showa shock requires moving the horizontal cylinder ignition coil, which needs moving anyway as it's too close to the exhaust header in the stock location.  I made a cutout to fit the coil half above and half below the aluminum sheet, with the wiring above and away from the heat and dirt of the header, drive chain, and wheel. You don't have to cut off the stock coil mounts - I just bent the long one up to clear the shock reservoir.
The FH020AA mosfet regulator runs much cooler than the stock one and seems fine in this location, with the aluminum providing an extra heat sink.  This mod is worth doing to any bike that doesn't already use one - and that's most.  What a stupid place for the manufacturers to save a few lire/yen.  The 695 has metri-pack type sealed electrical connectors everywhere but the two critical connectors to the reg/rect, so I got rid of those in the process. The empty space between the reg/rect and the wiring bundle at the rear is where the underseat tool kit box fits.
Made the mount for the taillight and turn signals out of 1/16" aluminum angle.  Micron Ti/stainless mufflers and M800s swingarm posted in tech.  Thanks for the advice  Kiss I hope this helps anyone else.  Reg/rect connectors from roadstercycle.com
