i like the idea of better suspension and brakes.
i wish they could put it on a diet, tho.
for $11k tho, i wonder if you could get a used sporty for $4-5k and get new triples, forks, wheels, brakes, bars, and come out less than $11k
I bought a 5,000 mile, one-owner 2000 Super Glide Sport (FXDX) for $5,200. After having the engine bored and stroked from 88ci to 103ci with Screamin' Eagle heads and S&S EZ-start gear-driven cams, 43mm Mikuni, SuperTrapp exhaust, ("only" 89 hp, but 113 ft-lbs of torque) and then adding full floating Brembo rotors, emulaters and Racetech springs and braided steel lines up front, plus Ohlins rear shocks, I have a $12k bike that surprises a few folks.
I do wish it weighed a bit less, but I have other bikes for that!
