Shock differences from 07-08 S2R1000?

Looking to have the shock serviced on my 2008 S2R1000 by Traxxion Dynamics.  I still have the shock from my 2007 S2R1000 that came off when I put Ohlins on it.

Can I just send them to '07 shock to refresh for me?

Is there any length or substance difference between 07 and 08?  I can't seem to find any differences in their descriptions online, and figured maybe someone here would know if there was some small 'Gotcha.'

Thank you!

I believe they are the same, but you can verify by downloading part catalogs on ducati.com > dealers and services  [thumbsup]

Those shocks are the same.

For what a service on that shock will cost, I'd give a hard look at the budget Ohlins unit.

Looks like Traxxion charges $225 for a rebuild; aren't Öhlins generally priced much higher than that?

So, I can get the Ohlins DU321 style for about $600 sprung for my weight.

The rebuild, and re-valve, re-spring, with the easy adjusting collar, rather than the knuckle busting spanner type, comes out to less than $400 after shipping from Traxxion.  Plus I'm ordering forks springs from them.

I really wanted the Ohlins, but honestly the adjuster collar kinda sold me on the rebuild.

Do you think the Ohlins is that much better? or am I just kinda paying for the name at that point? $200?  Both shocks have preload and rebound damping adjustment.

At least part of the cost difference is justified in that the Ohlins is brand new.
In addition, the Ohlins will have significantly higher resale value than a rebuilt stocker.

Wise words.

I don't ever want to sell it, but what I want and what is required are often very far from one another.

Ohlins looks damn good on a bike listing.

I'd say definitely get the Traxxion preload collar, no matter which shock you get.

Usually the Öhlins have a portion of compression damping included in the rebound adjuster.

That would be a plus against a stock shock....
