I have a 2000 Ducati Monster 750 Dark, that I just bought a few days ago. I was told it needed a new fuel pump.. So I believed the previous owner, and purchased a new one. Well, I dont need a new one, and theres no returns. So if anyone needs a fuel pump for the carbed ducatis I have one for sale.
Last night while trying to get the bike running, I hooked everything up according to a picture I found online, and the bike fired off and ran. But.... it started peeing gas out of the emissions canister.. Theres a hole rusted through it. So I plan on ditching the emissions system and the vacuum petcock all together. But I am going to need some help here.. Not very familiar with these kinds of systems. So any help/ recommendations are very helpful!
The reason I am planning on ditching the vacuum petcock is becuase I have read on multiple sites that they arent reliable. So I want to put a mechanical one on and just run the stock fuel pump and keep it simple.

What are your guys opinions? and how can I eliminate those two and still run the bike?

Thank you!

Ducati is the pretty girl that can't walk in heels without stumbling. I still love her.
