hey guys

my 1997 monster has to go through its 2 year compulsory check here in Japan soon so Oem parts are going back on. I did a nice tail chop with an L.E.D. integrated turn signals  conversion and that has to be put back to Oem too.

Done the standard turn indicators, license plate holder but...i can`t get the standard rear light to work. There are 3 wires and 3 prongs ( the wires are black, yellow and red/white ) and i can`t work out the right combination of prongs on the light unit to wires. I have done search after search, checked my Haynes manual but I still can` t get it right!!!  Anyone want to help out an idiot ( me ) ?

now, if you're not in a hurry, I could go to my bike[not home] and take a pic of rear light . . .same for ALL Monsters . . .

Or, turn key on, and start playing with wires . . . but, if my mind don't play tricks on me, black goes on horizontal tab, then yellow and red . . .

The one on the side is ground/black - it's for both filaments.

Then it's 50/50 for the two others.

Probably  ;)

Tail is yellow, license plate also.  Brake is gray/red, and, as said before, black is ground.  If you have the two leads reversed you will be illuminating the brighter filament and will not see the brake light come on.  Also, check the bulb, one filament could be bad.
