WDW Looms. Two "new models" areplanned.

Sounds like one is something new (ish?) while the other is a 90th anniversary edition bike.

I'd lay odds it's going to be the big Panigale selected for the 90th livery. Not exactly an out-on-a-limb guess there.

But any thoughts on what the real new item might be?

LAMS Panigale?

What? They'd sell tons of 'em.

Interesting thought - but the bigger picture seems to be pointing away from that

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2016/june/honda-cbr600rr-killed-off/

Honda his killing the CBR600RR in the Euro market, and some of the other i4 supersports might go away in the Euro market. Triumph is dropping the 675 plant for a 765.

Part of the Japanese i4 drop is that it costs them almost as much to engineer a 600 as it does the 1000. So they need to sell more 600s to make the $$$. So I wonder if the same would apply down to a low powered, LAMS criteria meeting, mini-gale

Maybe it's a touring bike to compete with the Japanese and BMWs...?

Isn't that tour bike role kinda occupied by the Multi?

I was thinking more along the lines of competing with the K series BMW or the Yamaha FJ series... Maybe bringing back the ST line with the new 1200 motor.

Multi I think is still geared towards ADV touring rather than over the road touring.

ST1200 would be a ripper. I liked the ST bikes.

ST1200 would be a ripper. I liked the ST bikes.

ST bikes are vastly underappreciated.
I've ridden every version, and they're all good.
(Although, if I ever get my hands on whoever was responsible for how the bodywork goes together, it's going to get ugly.  Angry )

ST899 would likely be plenty stout.....

Supermono 649?
That'd be epic.
Enthusiasts would flip out.
But even if the price were reasonable for a big single.... I'd only probably see one on the road.  Undecided

Man, they're really going out on a limb there.

... and then there are the other old suggestions: sport scooter and a crazy StreetFighter thing.
