This is the first time I've had issues with her after 8 years and 20K miles. Ran her this spring on one ride (not supposed to ride, bulging disk in neck) and no issues. Went to start her today and nada... All gauges and lights turned on but get the yellow engine light. Changed oil end of last summer (MAYBE 200 mi since). Not sure what to do at this point, closest service place is 30 mi away, with no way to get it there... I'm not the best wrench in the world but can usually manage if directed...

Thoughts?

And thank you in advance! :)

I'm thinking he's got a bike that's not cranking based on the CEL.

How old is the battery? 8 years is a long time, and you make no mention of ever having replaced it.

You're correct, I have never replaced it. I do hear it spinning up but nada. I DID forget to mention, for the first time, I had to trickle charge it after the winter this spring before that ride in April.  Do you think that's it?

I'd at least have the battery charged and load tested...

actually...after 8 years...

I'd buy a new battery and make sure it was charged correctly and be pretty sure the bike would start after installation. [thumbsup]
