Couple of questions for you guys from a Duc newbie on these ASV levers I just installed.

1) From their instructions, which seem somewhat dated, it says not to use their provided plunger for my bike.  It is slightly shorter than the OEM one and I have tried both on the bike, cannot tell much a difference at all.  But, it also says not to use the neutral kill switch, which I did have to use, so I am somewhat skeptical of their instructions..... any of you guys with a 796ABS?  Use the plunger or no?

2) I didn't notice it before but put the OEM clutch lever back on when I noticed some drag when in gear and pulling the lever to engage neutral.  Both plungers, old OEM lever and new one do it regadless.  Bled the clutch, still there. Did some looking online and seems this is somewhat normal with the wet clutch, particularly when cold.  Agree?

Issues reported with the AVS levers - search "ASV lever" here and you'll see.

Wet clutch drag isn't ok, even though it's frequent. On a rear wheel stand the wheel will spin SLOWLY because of the oil between the discs, but shouldn't be noticeable otherwise. This requires careful adjustment of the freeplay/plunger adjustment screw (does the ASV have one?)

Not being able to use the micro switch is just not good enough from ASV.

I looked and saw the noted problem with the neutral switch, that what you are talking about?  Mine has no problems engaging, tested that and it's working.

My question on the drag is because it seems it is doing it with the stock levers as well, no better or worse with the ASV's.  I did see something on the plunger adjustment but the bike only has 2k miles on it, so I have to assume it has always done this.  I cannot recall ever actually putting the bike in gear and pulling the lever to walk the bike around however, would put it in neutral if I were to do that.  So cannot confirm that it has always done it.

And no, the ASV does not have an adjuster screw.  :-(

There is clutch drag that is normal for a wet clutch and clutch drag that is a problem.  I would consider difficulty finding neutral when cold normal, more than that excessive.  You will note a dab of epoxy on that screw from the factory , it is there to tell you not to adjust it.  Replace a lever?  Then it may need adjustment.  You want 1.5-2mm. at the lever.  Can you return those ASVs and get a different brand?  IMO, no adjustment and defeat of a safety/convenience device is not acceptable.

The neutral switch does work on mine, no problems there.

Agree on the adjuster and it's a bit of a bummer but I'll try them for a while and see how they do.  I wasn't looking for that feature when I was shopping them and didn't discover this until seeing this board.  What's interesting to me is that the same drag exists with the stock levers in, no difference back and forth.  I can find neutral fine with it sitting in the garage and can put it in gear, pull the lever and push the bike back and forth.  You can just feel some drag there when doing it this way as compared to putting it in neutral.  That's what I mean there....

Ok, I started it up this morning and put it in gear, walked it back and forth with the clutch disengaged, no problems.  Slowly let it out to feel it grab, everything seems fine.  Guess its ok but will keep an eye on it.  Thanks to you guys who responded!   waytogo
