Hey all.

I want to fit an oil cooler to my wife's 2005 Monster 620, and I really like how the shrouding on the 696/1100 looks - nicer than the cooler hanging off the horizontal head, IMO.  I am almost certain that there are frame differences between the 620 and 696, but can anyone give me an idea of what would be involved in fitting the 696 setup to a 620?

it can be done . .. most probably would have to be "hung" in front of horizontal cylinder from the frame somehow . . .

Hi,

Can I install an oil cooler on my old 600 monster carb model 1993-2001?

Thanks & regards,

Will it require any modification in oiling system?

Originally it comes without oil cooler, but I have spotted two nuts (oil cooler infeed and out) on the oil reservoir closer to the oil filter. So I guess I'll need to open these two nuts and connect both lines from oil cooler. Do I need to make any other changes in order to pump oil in to oil cooler's infeed?

you need to get the bypass spring, #14

edit:
And then the fittings and hoses and the oil cooler, that mounts like this:

When attempting to remove the #21screw which retains the new #14 that you need to add...  IT IS HIGHLY ADVISABLE to find the correct size socket, purchase a cheapo socket in that size and then grind off the beveled 'lip' on the end so that the 6-sized "bore" of the correct sized sprocket is completely FLUSH with the end of the socket barrel.

Why you ask?  Because the "nut" portion of #21 screw is very, very short and it doesn't like the beveled lip of a standard socket.

Go ahead...  ask me how I know this...

And lastly:  Yes, you definitely DO need the #14 item listed below when adding an oil cooler.

I own a 620 and did this mod. All you have to do is get a cooler and related parts from a 750. Ebay helped me there.
